New Sections under section 24, 80EE, 80C etc asking for proofs under ITR1 filing for FY24-25

Did anyone notice new sections under 80C, 80EE and many more which asks for document numbers or say loan account numbers.
Suppose I want to claim PPF under 80C it is asking me to add Document number. What do I add in this? my ppf account number?
Why do they need this information? Do they want to track this as well?

Yes, everything will be tracked now, we are getting bounded and if you get extra cash in near future you can't even deposit in bank. If deposited you will get notice about the extra money source.

I don't understand how will they track? If i have to enter my ppf amount they didn't ask which bank i have ppf account. Just says document number what do i enter there? no clarity? That's why i want to know is it just for formality or if they really want to track they should mention clearly what all they require?

Bro, everything is linked already, if you give the account number, it will be easily tracked.

Every PPF A/c is opened with the relative PAN. PPF A/c funds are NOT part of Bank/PO deposit base - it belongs to the GoI. So, your data/details are ALREADY with them.

Come clean. And, don't try to play with them/ITD by giving some number. They are trying to test who is giving true n complete data n who is not.

ITD's 360 degree scanning - AI assisted - is doing a great job. Be careful.

in these times where all govts are busy doling out cash/kind to every tom dick and harry in the country (except tax payers)...every non taxed source of money (esp for tax payers) will be asked about.

That's what I'm saying they should also have mentioned what bank we have ppf account with. Also just saying document number not many people will understand what do we need to actually enter there. This seems like a half baked functionality and not properly implemented.

Just account number is enough (technically speaking, even that is NOT needed). PAN+A/c number is more than enough to dig into.

Remember that RBI/ITD have DIRECT ACCESS of all accounts.

No longer people can claim bogus rebates n deductions.
