ICICI Sapphiro Visa/MC to Rupay Conversion is Active Now

Hi everyone, I contacted ICICI customer care and itseems Saphhiro Visa/MC to Rupay conversion is active now. But they are saying that they will cancel existing card/s. I have asked to provide it as an additional LTF card. Lets see. SS attached.


If they do not agree for additional, would it make sense converting and cancelling existing variants?

Update 1: They rejected to provide additional Rupay variant.
"We regret to inform you that as per the bank policy we are unable to provide multiple variants as lifetime free or chargeable."

Update 2: Customer Care informed that Sapphiro Rupay is being issued in Platinum Variant.

Update 3: @Abhishek012 confirmed Sapphiro Rupay is being issued in Select Variant.

If you apply yourself (PAN+OTP) there will be a cibil hit for sure. But this method works well if you leave the application in middle.

Yeah, if PAN, Aadhaar, and OTP are given then there's gonna be a guaranteed CIBIL hit.
I wonder how the other person didn't get hit for hard CIBIL query. Maybe the query is made only on hitting submit. Not sure.

Maybe they just didn't get the alert. ICICI does CIBIL hit every time you try to apply no matter what.

Sorry, if I missed it, but I had gone through the thread and there are so many sapphiro ltf, I am trying to get this card ltf, but they are saying they cannot provide ltf for me. Whats the salary requirement to get it ltf

Easy if your in-hand salary is 1.5 lac+ and your company is listed here: https://campaigns.icicibank.com/credit-card/empaneledCompanies/index.html

If company is not listed here than you need 2 lac+ in hand salary or some good relationship value with ICICI.

On wednesday, I applied for the Add-on Card Rupay variant Sapphire, waiting for card delivery. Although the card is being issued, I can see it in my ICICI account, but I can’t add the card to the Add-on Card Applicant UPI account. Why is that? I thought Rupay UPI adding is allowed for the Add-on Card holder’s UPI account as well.

This is only working in sbi & hdfc as of now and that is also i found said by some people, in hdfc i faced the same issue and then closed the add on card

If that's the case, then I will close the add-on card too. The only reason I applied for the add-on card was the linking to UPI.

Confirm once with the bank whether ICICI add-on cards can be linked to UPI or not.

No they can't. I had taken RuPay Coral addons and they did NOT work on addon holder's number

Update: ICICI customer care can update the number so UPI works on addon cardholder's own number. Now everyone can enjoy the enhanced benefits of paid addons

Contacted ICICI customer care. They said to call from the add-on card holder’s mobile, then they will process the request for the addition of the card on UPI. Let me call them, then I will share the further details. See what happens.

Spoke to the customer care team. They said, “Yes, adding Rupay card on UPI is allowed. We just have to update the number in my system for online UPI transactions. Since in my case, the card was issued just two days back, they said to wait for the card delivery and then call. We will update the number, and then UPI transactions will be enabled.”

Oh ok that's good to know. But anyway, add-ons are paid with no waiver conditions ever meaning 199+GST every year "lifetime". I think it's better to take whatever FYF cards ICICI throws at you in iMobile and meet their waiver condition (which is just 1.5L for cards like HPCL Super Saver). Or opt for "Expressions" credit card where we will be charged 499+GST one-time only, just like the old MMT Platinum, but again waiver is just 1.5L in a year for Expressions as it's just a paid Coral in disguise. This much spends very much achievable vs 199+GST regardless of spends done on addon credit card.

All this only if you haven't got LTF RuPay Coral and Platinum Visa already which a huge number of people got
