Mahindra unveils four bold SUV concepts on a new platform, production in 2027​

Mahindra has revealed its NU_IQ modular platform and four striking SUV concepts: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X at the Freedom NU event, signalling its bold global SUV strategy for 2027.​

BMW is reportedly working on a rugged new SUV designed to take on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

Codenamed “G74” the model will be built on the next-generation X5 platform and could potentially replace the XM as BMW’s flagship SUV.

Expected to debut in 2029, it’s set to feature a boxy design and serious off-road performance.

Not an easy task to take on OG G Wagon. Performance wise it could be great as BMW are known for engines, but build quality has to be addressed.

**PS : I like BMW more than Merc.

I agree with you 200%.
G-Wagon is a legend and has its own cult following.
BMW India needs to play hardball now and I think it’s time they introduce Alpina soon for the brand loyalists.
 
Mercedes-Benz is in talks with BMW to use its 2.0-liter B48 petrol engine in upcoming models, including the CLA, GLA, GLB, C-Class, E-Class, GLC and the new compact “Little G” SUV. The engine already meets Euro 7 standards and works well in plug-in hybrid systems, making it a practical option as Mercedes looks to strengthen its hybrid range.

Production would likely take place at BMW’s Steyr plant in Austria, with a possible U.S. facility under discussion. An agreement could be announced before the end of 2025, and the first Mercedes models using BMW engines may reach the market in 2027.
