If you are using Samsung phone then look at the 5G Logo. The dark logo = 5G connected and when it fades then 5G disconnected. It all happens because Airtel is having NSA 5G while Jio has SA 5G. NSA 5G runs on 4G as core network and 5G as add-on while SA 5G works on 5G core network.

Another thing Samsung users can do is dial * # 0011 # and it will show the connected bands and if 5G radio is connected it will show Band 78 and 100 MHz bandwidth.

My brother use Airtel sim and this thing is always there in every area where it switches back to 4G but signal shows as 5G but 5G radio disconnects and a faded logo confirms it.

Check the screenshot. Only on Samsung you can see this. When it is disconnected data deducts from pack as it is actually using 4G radio.

Then there is no remedy for you than to remain in better covered 5G area. Because it keeps showing 5G when actually working on 4G radio.

There is a reason why Jio called its 5G True 5G because Airtel one is fake. Even with Vi launching 5G at few places this problem is there as they too having NSA 5G running on 4G core as add-on.

As i said I always used ACT for years.. it was the.best here in Hyderabad.. they hardly have breakdowns. Even if it happens they will fix it in within afew hours..
My airtel broadband is still down from the yesterday evening..
will move to ACT.. probably close airtel axis card also along with it..

I am surviving on Jio mobile data for the last two days..
My Airtel BB n mobile data not working…

It seems local ISPs are also suffering from this cable cutting…

Probably these fiber cuts have impacted your nearest tower or they have shutdown it. My local tower is switched off due to unknown reason and my mobile n/w is patchy at the moment.

Yes, probably..the thing is no official guy is conveying this.. all big mess at the moment..

2. Airtel has fallback mechanism on 2G network so that atleast voice calling works...It is very helpful when traveling to remote locations where jio does not work most of the times. Jio does not have 2G fallback mechanism

3 Airtel spam notification is life saver and now i can skip all spam calls...It is very effective and accurate

4. Airtel has 2249 plan for 365 days which jio does not have

5. Airtel have Free voicemail service which jio does not have

6. Airtel have more tie ups for international roaming with best networks whereas jio has very limited tie ups

7. Airtel call connection ratio as per TRAI is 99%+ whereas jio is around 94%

8. Call mute ratio in airtel is 0.5% whereas jio is 3% i.e. call goes mute

9. Airtel volte network is superior compared to jio.

I can share many more

Sharing just as a customer otherwise not a big fan of airtel because they also contributed big amount through Electoral Bonds and obviously to get some favors.

That’s the fact.. at the moment it is saving me a lot by providing the internet access where Airtel failed to provide both mobile net and Fibernet.. and the worst part is their CC is not even talking responsibly inspite of the worst service.. I threatened to disconnect and they are happily accepting my offer…

Most ISPs in India uses Airtel, TATA and Vodafone lines. If they are down in your area then your local ISPs will also be down.

For calling and SMS Jio is the best.

Calls to 1860 numbers are free.

SMS to premium number like 57575 is free.

You can directly call any international number from main balance without recharging ISD plan.

Jio to Jio/other operators call quality is HD/High quality compared to chortel poor call quality.

Jio uses 4G 850 Mhz band for calling where signal is weak. So even if you have one bar in network you can still make HD calls and use internet whereas chortel switches to 2G where call quality is poor and you can't use internet on 2G.

Therefore For Calling/SMS Jio is the best and for internet Jio is not bad.

Chortel data speed is good but you can't use unlimited 5G/share 5G hotspot and in 2G you can't even use mobile data.

I think you can get 3 months Plan at discounted price if you port to Jio through nearby mobile recharge shops.

I have both Airtel postpaid and Jio postpaid, on the same device. There are many locations where data on Jio starts crawling and I am forced to switch to Airtel. Also, Jio throttles speed when using hotspot/tethering while Airtel does not. In terms of voice call quality, Airtel is generally better than Jio.
