In January, Kotak suddenly modified their T&C to exclude utility transactions from earning cashback. The change was made around 21st Jan, but many of us had already carried out transactions before that date. Yet, they refused to provide the cashback, citing the updated T&C.

Yes, it has been excluded since then. But, my January spends were eligible for cashback, yet it was not provided, so I raised a complaint with the RBI.

I mailed pno about that tnc change in Feb & they credited the 500 cashback in march for the CC bill payment transaction using SBI unipay (utility mcc) for Jan.
It was within a month, so no compensation for me. 🙂

I have a Question, I can't access kotak 811 app coz my mobile has 2 crn's apparently. (Mine and my ex's with whom I am not in touch with anymore)
So I use normal kotak app(old and new) which doesn't have the diamond thing to see cashback.
I am not sure how 811 works nowadays but few months back kotak used to automatically give cashback for eligible spends next month around 18th.
Now do we have to claim the cashback or kotak still auto claims the cashback next month? Remember, I don't have access to kotak 811 exclusive app because of 2crn's issue.

cool, is manual credit also a thing where if people have access to kotak 811 app, they can click on diamond thing to claim cashback credit right away? or is that diamond thing just to monitor your current cashback, and credit will happen next month only?

Diamond is just to monitor cashback and also no guarantee showing cashback this month will credit next month but generally it's credited around same.
Yes, only condition is you have to deposit 5k every month and have to shop through 811 super DC

Thanks, yes I am aware of 5k deposit thing, I have gotten cashback before aswell but when kotak pulled their BS in Jan/feb 2025 where they changed terms and didn't gave me cashback, I got sick and never went back to them.
Now that idfc is no more a thing, I guess desperate time calls for desperate measures.
