We all come across a lot of credit cards new launches every month and promotions by influencers.
When many cards launches many people often think of taking it without thinking too much, whether it would be needed or suited for their spend pattern. These days cards are launched with flashy promotions, and influencer twitter threads, youtube videos and what not. Many times all this makes one feel that if I don't take this card, I am missing something and I am dragged behind the crowd.
If someone is an card influencer, youtube channel, or hobbiyist, then it still is OK for them to take this card, just to see the features, add to their collections and create content, but for general public many times, so many cards are not needed.
FOMO is the buzz word - fear of missing out - that makes people take these impulsive decisions. Because of that some people apply for these new cards and later realize that it is not needed for them. Some people extract the joining benefits and keep it if it is LTF, some people realize the mistake and close it. Some people just regret the decision.
Which card did you take out of FOMO and then realized that it is not for you? (either it is redundant, or not matching your spends, or not needed for you in the first place) and had to close it? Hoping to see some interesting discussions.
