1. USA is a bigger enemy and an arrogant country than China and Pakistan combined.

2. In Geopolitics best leaders never guess what others gonna do with, rather they get prepared for every eventualities.

What were Indian leadership and diplomats were doing when other countries were facing tariff hike? Laughing right? Now let people lough at them.

By reading comments, I am not surprised, how Indian media has brain washed minds of common people.

The benefit of cheap Russian oil is taken by crony capitalists...Biggest beneficiaries are Reliance and Nayara....Common men, who is still paying market price of petrol is justifying the same in the name of NATIONALISM
 
India is buying Russian oil at average 40% below International price...If this benefit is passed to common men then the petrol price in India should have been around Rs 60 per litre but we are still paying around Rs 100 per litre

Who is pocketing this profit of Rs 40 per litre?

Base crude with OMC charges comes to around ₹60, rest is excise and vat on varying percentage by govt.

Regarding not passing on the benefit to Indian public, this govt has not lowered GST on health and life insurance.

So, I think reducing taxes on fuel is ruled out.
 
I hope someday those who blame Govt for everything and higher taxes, read and understand the taxation of other countries and the inflation those countries has where people aren't able to save 10-15% of what they earn.

These people will never get the chance to visit those countries and keep blaming the heaven called India and they won't accept it as heaven because they have never been to real hell called developed nations. I lived in Australia and my brother is now its citizen but there is not a single day when he don't curse Australia for being a tax sucker.

Mindset of a typical Indian: Make my income non-taxable, give me everything cheaper and low tax on petrol and everything I need and at last provide me world class facilities like developed nation.

Wah re 2 takkey ke economists jo last 1-2 pages mein apni frustration nikal rahe hai. Itna hi hai toh zyada mehnat karke kama lo. DC se CC ke bill bhar ke zindagi chalaney waley kaha se petrol dalwatey hai? 🤣

Bhai, everyone has right to have their own views. Though I am certain that u didn't address me still responding...

People has the right to question government for the negetive development in international arena.

If not govt? Then whom to blame? Ambani? Opposition?

Oposition is worst, foreign countries may have their own issues, but that doesn't mean we cannot question people in power in India.

I like many of them in govt, but I am not a blind followers. We should not be.

I believe let people criticise so as govt stay on their toes; otherwise they will always want to be in heaven at devraj Indra's darbar.
 
As mentioned by @2025, in times like these people question the government. Ultimately the tariffs may impact a few of us but how the govt reacts and protects our national interests is what matters.

@desiviru same question if asked in public, 90% of the people will be against you. Regarding taxes on fuel there is no uniform rate, state levies vat and cess.
Revenue is then utilized for freebies, this has now become a part of the manifesto during election campaigns.

You seem to be frustrated by someone's post on this thread, but please understand simple savings instrument like FD there is TDS with very low cap, life and health insurance GST rationalization pending since last few quarters.
Basic facilities like roads and storm water management are not in focus, forget about world class facilities.

Majority of the Indians opinion matters, no need to comment on users sharing their genuine concerns. It doesn't matter how much you earn or where you live. People come from different places and circumstances. Please be respectful of others and keep the discussion constructive.

What's the tax rate in Australia? And what facilities does the government offer against these taxes?
You must be well aware about Ladli behena scheme. Where does the money come from? Why are our political parties interested to give freebies in form of Cash?
Why not give quality education, basic medical facilities for free?
Do the developed countries offer free education and Medical?
Could you please tell whether reducing the taxes on fuel (petrol/ Diesel) will result in reduction of inflation or not?
