Axis Bank launches ‘Lock FD’ feature to curb digital frauds: How it works

What's the problem in opening your liberty account??
I opened it online very easily about two years ago...
Actually I had an account prior to this. Actually 2. So online toh open nhi ho rha and branch mein they are asking for 4-5 lakhs IP and also priority account khulane ke liye zabardasti kar rahe hai

The interest rates vary as I always ladder the FDs in small trances.
I was expecting that you'd say 10%

And I'd have replied with: "That's not close enough to the Tariff rates i put today "

I still wonder how this kind of banks cause troubles to the existing customers...
Nothing wrong in up selling...but they just need to mention about their other high end products and explain them and just leave the final decision to the customer...
not sure why they force the existing valuable customer....
It defeats the basic rule of customer satisfaction ....

As per rbi notification dated March 6, 2024 🪓 should have offered me rupay network preference when I was applying for it in January 2025 and like now they are not switching the card network and saying ki unke paas woh feature nahi tha in January 2025 and blaming it on me somehow aur bol rhe hai to either close and aplly for new one or at the time of renewal in january 2030. Dono hi bekar solutions hai.

So I raised it to the RBIO just now, do you think my case has any valid merits,

also 20k ka compensation also i asked, mil gaya toh isika FD karake axis mein lock kardunga.

Punjab National Bank aka PNB has Safety Ring feature since 5 years that protects you from FD breakage online using your credentials.

In that you can set a limit upto which amount your FD can be prematurely closed. Like I around 45L FDs in PNB and I have set 5L in safety ring. So only those FDs having amount less than 5L can be prematurely closed upto a maximum amount of 5L cumulatively. This is monthly limit.

Any change in safety ring limit takes 24 hours to apply and if anyone changes it without your consent even at branch you are notified twice by SMS and emails. When you reduce limits, it is applied instantly but increase takes 24 hrs period.

Best thing to do is never publicize your bank registered number. I have a different phone and a completely different number in bank that isn't shared with anyone. Even for Fund Transfers I ask person to do NEFT or RTGS insetad of sharing mobile no. for UPI or IMPS.

For UPI, I have a different SFB bank account which always has less balance and a different mobile number. None of my main accounts having good balances have UPI registered.
 
this is done coz it serves 2 purposes...first security and second...now the bank ppl can upsell their shitty investment plans to clueless seniors who come to bank to break their fd...
