It is deeply disappointing to see a country of India’s global stature resort to such a reactionary and, frankly, juvenile tone in response to legitimate international concerns. Instead of presenting a nuanced, forward-looking policy rationale, this statement reads more like a defensive schoolyard retort — “you did it too.”
India, as an aspiring global power and the world’s largest democracy, should lead with maturity, transparency, and strategic foresight — not by pointing fingers or justifying decisions based on what others are doing. The fact that others trade with Russia does not negate the need for India to uphold its own commitments to global stability, ethical responsibility, and long-term strategic interests.
Statements like these do little to enhance India’s credibility on the world stage. They serve only to reduce complex geopolitical issues into a tit-for-tat blame game, which helps no one — least of all India’s citizens.
The world expects better from India. And India should expect better from itself.

Well IMO the statement seems correct. I would like to clarify that I am not a supporter of Modi, BJP or Right wing.
In this case trump is saying that because India has been buying oil from Russia, the Ukraine war is still going on. This doesn't make any sense if other countries are also doing trade with Russia.
As far as the prices of petrol diesel are concerned I think it's High time that Government to rethink the tax and reduce the prices of petrol and diesel.
When crude was boiling they taxed the Crude oil companies under windfall taxation. Now when it's a little stable the government isn't passing on the benefits to Common man. IMO reducing Diesel prices shall be beneficial for our economy to reduce the inflation.
These are my views and may be incorrect in some ways. Request experts to share their opinions
Sometimes a wise needs to play dumb in some situations. Standing with US and EU won't fetch India anything in return in future. They always backed China and will continue to back it. When China can push them to wall by keeping their own interest first, we also can.
Problem with most of people here who are labelling such responses as childish is that they don't understand the dynamics of India at all. As I told already, we don't need world as much as the world needs us.
Iff US and EU can't follow the rules they make and can flexible muscles according to their own needs then the very fact of having such rules destroys the whole meaning of it.
Buying Russian oil isn't helping war in Ukraine.
The same US has funded Pak directly and they used it to attack India. They never stopped it even when India provided them enough proofs by saying, it (Pak) is your own problem and not ours.
Now it's time India is telling, that Russia-Ukraine conflict is not because of us but the actions US/EU took which forced Russia to attack Ukraine. Behind the scenes US had plotted Russia-Ukraine war thinking they could weaken Russia but that malafide intentions didn't fruited and now they are frustrated and blaming importers of Russia.
US ki G*** mein damm hai toh China ko keh ke dekh le ki naa import karo unse. China is imprting 3X then us. How come China is not funding war but India is.
Some Indians who aren't even aware of smallest of things come here and blame own Govt over lies peddled by US/EU. Such jokers are everywhere in India whose own furstration with regime comes out and they blindly start believing other's agendas and propagandas.
From Iddle East to Africa, people are annoyed with US/EU and behind the scenes they are backing BRICS moves. But to understand the bigger picture of something you need to be analystic and I am sorry to say, here some people just read a news and make hue n cry.

Benefit over then USA can say anything they want to anyone to whom US feels it should be below US and not above it
