Should I upgrade from DCB plastic LTF to DCB Metal FYF?

I've received emails to upgrade from DCB plastic LTF to DCB Metal FYF.

Is there any way to convert the FYF card to LTF if I choose to upgrade? Will this hamper any chances of getting Infinia in future?

IMO one simple rule should be, take it only if you need it. I know Infinia offers 12500 points but you still pay GST. More than that, practically, the value of Infinia points is around 93p. That's a total loss of Rs. 3,125. Lastly, Infinia is only great if you use Smartbuy. If you never use Smartbuy, LTF DCB is anyday better option.

I know the redemption happens at 1:1.
I said practically it's not 1:1. I prefer getting upfront discount than getting reward points.
Consider the following scenario you want to book a flight which is for 10K. You get upfront discount of 10% on CC (as per the offer available)
On Smartbuy you redeem 7K points but need to pay 3K in Cash.
So 9K Cash = 3K cash +7K points.
That's not a perfect example but the point is practically 1 Infinia point < 1Rs.

if u have already infinia upgrade then why not take that?

My spends are mostly non smart buy based. For flight and hotel booking I usually book it via OTA websites because of the deals and discounts. I have hardly ever faced acceptance issue for Diners and plus it's LTF and with the card I get access to lounges.

Can I downgrade back to ltf dcb plastic?
Is it worth going for FYF dcb?

AFAIK, downgrade to LTF DCB plastic seems impossible. They might offer you RG LTF instead.
