I have 2 months old iocl global visa debit card.
Should I first close the card before approaching sbi branch? Or should I ask the branch person to close the iocl and apply pragati?

It's instant, and don't bother about the fees for now. First, get the DC applied. If they don't issue you the DC, then there's no point in discussing the fees, it's up to them whether they apply it or not.

Still, it's 300 + GST.

Replacement fees mai khush raho, issuance fees 399 + GST hai, jyada complain karoge toh issuance bhi laga denge 😂😂

Basically, consider that as a cheap issuance fee.

Issuance fee to by default system debit karega hi par ye jabardasti replacement fee kyu lga rahe blocked card walo ka? Kisi blocked card wale ko replacement fee charge hua hai kya?

Issuance fees nhi lag rhi hai bhai, only replacement.

I haven't seen anyone, who got charged proper issuance fees.

Repeating it once again, please go and visit the branch and first try to get the DC issued.

That's what I thought too, but then I don't understand why they are tagging the fee as a "replacement" instead of an "issuance."

Anyway, those who were charged under "replacement" should be happy, as they still saved around ₹117.

Issuance would be around ₹471, but here it's only ₹354.
