Karnataka Bank new MAB requirements

In the era of waiving off minimum balance criteria, Karnataka Bank which is one the oldest private sector banks in India, has changed their MAB requirements from August'25. Those who were availing Rs 500 MAB facilities for SBs without cheque book, now they have to bear a huge jump. New requirement is below:

₹3,000 for Metro & Urban branches for all

₹2,000 for Semi-urban branches for all

₹1,000 with cheque book & 500 without cheque book for Rural & Inclusion branches

What do you think about these changes? As per my opinion it's a suicidal step by this bank.

Could u please attach any relevant SS or any file showing this Change?
will be helpful for me

Open a account with them. You will realize it and write thread here.
I have an account already with them though I am planning to close it due to new MAB changes. I found this bank as neutral enough. Already stopped dc & sms alert, they didn't charge me for these services. No unnecessary calls & nothing extra perks. NetBanking/Mobile Banking is very poor here, branches are very poor, can't believe it's a private sector bank, if they are providing sb account with zero balance or lower mab like earlier, not bad to maintain an account with them for upi purpose.

Yeah, forgot to mention l, upi downtown comparatively lesser than many private sector banks, also from PSBs. Basic alerts are always on time which is devastating in many psbs like BOBs. What can u expect more from a cheap bank?

In the era of opening new accounts for RSDC, people need to close their existing karnataka accounts.

Account closure fee before 1year is only stopping me from closing this account
@fradela

Opened online account for rsdc.
Came late like 15days
First quarter was good, then from 2nd quarter vouchers are not refreshing, so its yearly only.

Now this mab increase fiasco
Bro, I am not sure, there are many people in this community are claiming RSDC from any bank where it's cheap but you can check the bank quality first. In my opinion it's a cheap bank. When I first visited their branch, my impression was like, did I visit a RRB? Employees were so horrible that they didn't understand basic customer requirements. I opened my account with them on 2021. At that moment RPDC was present & availed the same also. I faced few issues transaction failure on DC txns etc on specially Amazon during offer days. That day, I hotlisted the card instantly, using as my UPI back account & performing basic stuffs. It was working absolutely fine till today without any major hiccups. UPI server/settlement or Sms alerts are mostly instant but recen MAB changes changed my mind & I shall close it asap. This is not possible to maintain Rs 3000/2000 in such a cheap bank.

So, next time before opting any cards pls check the bank first. Same way, I always neglect few more banks like:

1. UCO
2. IOB
3. BOM
4. KVB
5. DHANALAKSHMI

May be they are great in few areas or providing a few cheap priced products still I don't consider these banks majorly & I shall hardly consider for any banking needs. Bank with those organisations which have basic minimum good online & offline services & presense. Just my suggestion.
