Gold coin purchase from Flipkart - Advice.

I have 6k super coin to use within 15 days.
I think I will purchase some amount of gold using 5% super coin discount offer in vip account. (1:1 value for sc), which I need although, if I get at good price.
Else other options only gives me bellow 1sc =0.25 rs. Returns.
Queries.
1. Is it safe to purchase gold coin through fk , ( domination of 1gm or 2g per order)
2. The certificate associated with it, is it applicable to jewellery shop too.( local shop giving me 1gm 24 carrot = 1.1 gm 22 carrot )
3. Should do this transaction? ( 5% using sc and 5% cb using sbi cashback card)
4. Will I get 5% discount in sbi cashback card, hdfc Swiggy and hdfc millennia?
5. Any other advice you want to give, please .

Alright, gold + super coins + cashback = serious value hunt. You’re asking all the right questions,

Yes, it’s generally safe to buy gold coins through Flipkart, especially if the seller is trusted like MMTC-PAMP or Augmont. Just check the seller rating and make sure it’s fulfilled by Flipkart, not some random third-party. Coins in 1 or 2 gram denominations are fine for testing, gifting or adding up over time

Yes, the certificate that comes with it is legit, but local jewelers often treat it like a flyer. Some may accept it if they trust the brand, others will quote their own logic. They usually offer exchange value based on purity and weight, but might not give full value unless it's from a store they respect

If you’re getting 5 percent off using super coins and 5 percent cashback using SBI Cashback card, then yes, this is a smart move. Just double-check that the seller falls under online shopping categories and doesn’t get flagged under "gold bullion" or "excluded" MCCs. Play safe with small amount first if unsure

SBI Cashback will give 5 percent only if the merchant is under regular online shopping category. HDFC Swiggy card and HDFC Millennia usually don’t reward on gold or Flipkart gold categories. Millennia specifically excludes gold. Swiggy card won’t give you food points for coins, sadly

Advice time. Use your super coins before they expire. Even if the coin doesn't give huge resale value today, you’re still converting those coins to real value instead of letting them rot. Try a small test order, check MCC and cashback, then go bigger if everything goes smooth

So in your case, yes, this transaction makes sense if it’s from a trusted seller, fits the discount combo, and you need the gold anyway. Just don’t expect your local jeweler to roll out a red carpet for a Flipkart gold coin without some negotiation flair on your part

Does Axis Flipkart CC also give 5% on this?
No, Axis Flipkart credit card does not give 5 percent cashback on gold coin purchases. Gold, jewellery, and similar categories are usually excluded from cashback benefits, even if bought on Flipkart

Even if it looks like a regular order, Axis systems can flag the merchant category and remove the reward. So if you're buying gold coins, don't count on cashback from this card

Better to use SBI Cashback card which has higher chances of working, but always test with a small order first to be sure the cashback actually applies
