Guys, Malabar have launched Golden bliss plan.
  • You can lock in either an advance amount or deposit old gold/coins.
  • The tenure is 11 months.
  • After maturity, you can buy gold jewellery with ZERO making charges (up to 18%).
Many of us stack gold coins either as gifts, investments, or savings. But converting coins into jewellery usually means paying hefty making charges (8–20% depending on the item).

Now, with this plan:
  • You just deposit your gold coins.
  • Wait for 11 months.
  • Convert them to jewellery with no making charge deductions upto 18%.

Isn't golden bliss a very old scheme ?

Also isn't it the jewellery pre book scheme ? You select your jewellery in advance and have it pre-booked / locked and buy it on redemption date with upto 18% discount on making charges .

Here is an article from 2023

Here is one from Gullak https://gullak.money/blog/malabar-gold-scheme/

I remember this being a failure compared to other schemes.

Either someone misled you or they revamped and released the scheme again, hopefully it's option 2.

Yes, it was there previously.
They relaunched it on mid of April.
No, you don’t need to pre book any jewellery now.
We can just give our old gold or coin or amount and lock in for 11 months.
We can save upto 18% VA.

Also Wedding Advance plan is different and we can pre book a jewellery by paying an advance.

Will enquire. Would love to use the gold coins I have saved up plus this gives incentive to stock even more.

How this scheme can be great. You are taking risk by giving gold coin or cash to a jeweller. If ithe shop closed, who will help

That risk is with anything you do , including FD with banks , mutual funds and whatnot. It's a bad perspective to look into things.

Also, it's malabar, one of the biggest jewellers in the country.

Also, buying jewellery through schemes is one of the best ways to save money on making charges and gold averaging. My family has been doing this for more than a decade. I bought 23grams gold yesterday after a scheme matured , for average rate of 7300 , and paid like 4% making charge for only 10 grams out of the 23. 0 making charge on the remaining gold.
