Looking for a RuPay card that meets the following requirements:
  • Must work without a minimum spend of ₹2000
  • Should have the same reward rate across different apps (not just the issuer’s app)
  • Must earn reward points on grocery purchases and roadside eating places
  • At least 1% reward rate or cashback

I haven't been tracking RuPay cards much lately, so if any fit these criteria, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Special Thanks!

@Hemang : Axis Airtel Rupay (1% offline spends)
@2025 : AU InstaPay (1% on selected categories include eating places, grocery and pharmacy)

Note:
  • Eterna: 0 points for 95% of my spending in these categories, same applies to Snapdeal
  • Tata Neu: Unreliable app outside, struggles to open, inconvenient RP split between HDFC and their platform, and requires using their app only and if any issues have to check support here and there.

@helloworld, These days, I am mostly using SBI SimplySave Rupay along with Neu Infinity and Power+.

I am getting a reward rate up to 1.67% on UPI Grocery payments (10 Reward points per Rs. 150). Points are credited for payments in multiples of Rs. 150.

Double benefits of SBI Card Offers. Best low-cost combo with SBI Cashback for using in known shops.

I use Tata Neu Infinity (LTF) card. 1.5% cashback on above 100 (Even I get it for above 80).

Less than 100, go with same card in super money app. Good cashback for less than 100 too.
Can you confirm the minimum payment amount to get points using Tata Neu Infinity? I have tested years back, now I'm not able to recall.

1. Is it 80? [80*0.015 = 1.2] or below as well (I am talking about through the Neu app)
If I go by that logic (points rounding), then it could be from Rs. 67, right? [67*0.015 = 1.005]
2.
The next point is, is it also in multiples of Rs. 67 and on a per-txn basis? Ideally, it should be.

3. Also, in other apps, it would come out like Rs. 200 and its multiples. (by the same logic) Is it so?

Has anyone tested recently? @cardio_guy @helloworld

For Tata Neu App, minimum 100, to get 1.5%. you will 1.5 rs back. Even if you spend, 80rs , you will get that cashback.

Less than 100, go with super money, they usually give 2 to 3 % cashback.

Tata Neu Infinity is One of the best UPI cards as of now if you get it is as a LTF.

KIWI is not giving cashbacks until you buy rs 1200 neon subscription. It is not all worth.

I think my question was more specific. he he.
If I get the answer, then good. Otherwise, I have to test again. Thanks.

@Abhishek012 or someone confirm, Does 5% cashback applicable on grocery using Rupay Shoprite CC??

++ redemption fee, its never 5%

1.5% tni uses round up, very very few cards in market to do round up.

no, its 1.5% and round up not 67 multiples

depends on card but majority 100 and its round down.. 101 to 199 = 100..

if it opens, not laggy, and works.. then its best

6 out 10 of my transactions didnt worked for rupay cards in that app.

same merchant, same qr, same card works in other app without any issues but that gives 0.5% only which is still good becoz tataneu gives 0% by not accepting it.

problem with indusind is that they do not allow 100% reward redemption....With 3rd class brands, they allow 60% and with some it is only 20%...so you need to spend from pocket for redemption
Bhai just last week i applied for kiwi rupay card, it is far better than any other rupay cc for merchant upi transactions. Till now it is giving 1.5% cashback for every 50 rupees spent. Yesterday i received the notification that starting from 1st june it would take per 100 rupees transaction for 1.5% cashback, so for maximum cashback we need to spend in multiple of 100s. But still better return in comparison to every other card. I stopped using indusind rupay, now it would come handly only in time of bank specific sales.

I see it in a slightly different way.

Tata Neu UPI rewards come in 2 ways -
  • 1% in the neu app if you use Neu app for UPI scan. (you won't get this 1% if you use some other app)
  • 0.5% in the card statement for the infinity card (irrespective of the app like gpay, amazonpay, neu, phonepe etc)
In the app side, I have seen that I get '1 neu coin earned' notification only when I scan something above Rs 60 or Rs 70. (That means your assumption of 67 could be right) [Also, this unlocks after 7 days of the UPI scan and is valid for 1 year]

In the card side, what I think is - add the total UPI spends in the month - and then multiply by 0.5% = you will see this as UPI rewards in the card statement.
(Here I am not sure if there is a minimum limit exist or not). It will appear as "NeuCoins_on_UPI_Acc" [This gets credited in bulk (along with other neu coins earned in the statement) after 3 days of the staetment generation date]

This time when I checked, my total UPI spends (excluding petrol) is Rs 10012 and the neu coins received is 44. So there is a small difference. It should be 50, but I got 44. That means there also there is a minimum spend. Since it is difficult to calculate, I left it. (not worth the time freaking for 10-20 Rs I felt)

It's a good example to get fair idea on normal usage...
INR 44 worth ( Neu Coins), are cashback?
What's the minimum criteria to redeem?
.5 %( 25 INR cashback, you will get in due time) ?

neu coins can be redeemed on tata group online purchases including bigbasket, 1mg, air india express etc. entire neu coin balance can be used for single txn without any min/max limit

Thanks.

Could you please check that statment again. But this time do txn wise (not together) in multiple of 200.

Let me know whether it coming close to 44. (200*44 = 8800, valid) My guess is remaining could be either below Rs. 200 or excess after Rs. 200 multiples.

If that's the case, Then it's not good for small payment below 200.
