Is OTP VKYC eSigning on SC credit card application?

My friend got a phone call from unknown number for SC EaseMyTrip card. He provided his information and got a vKYC link as well. He has not completed vKYC yet.

Today he has received an OTP from AD-SCBANK something like this:

XXXXXX is your One-Time Password. It is valid for 240 seconds. For assistance, please call 6601 4444 / 6601 444 / 011-39404444 / 1800 345 1000 / 1800 345 5000.

The "executive" says that this is an OTP required for "eSign dispatch" or something. Is this something that is required in SC cards?

I checked I also received same 240 seconds otp sms. I think I shared it also on call. I got my SC smart card after following further process.
