Is it possible to change the BOB advantage account (SB 101) to BOB mahila shakti (SB181) account variant?

So my mother has bob advantage account (sb101) and want to apply for the RSDC but not able to do so. Is it possible to change the account variant to bob mahila shakti account (sb181) ? If anyone has done this kindly confirm and suggest the process.

I converted my BoB Lite Variant to Advantage account.

After 15 days, converted it to Super savings account.

Applied for RSDC just after converting to SS.

So I guess it’ll work, you just have to talk to the branch guys!

Yes, fill in details like name and account number. Tick on change account variant. Clearly mention the code of the account you want.

Its actually not allowed to convert any account to Mahila Shakti account.
You need to open a new account only.
I also wanted to convert but it's not allowed.

Oh, so it is not allowed to change the account variant to mahila shakti. The problem is that we can't even change to super savings account variant if branch is semi urban & rural. So looks like there is no way to get RSDC for existing customers of advantage variant.

RSDC is also available in BOB Senior Citizen Privilege Account, and account conversation to senior citizen account is also allowed.
If your mother is senior citizen of any other member then you can look into it.

Unfortunately, none of members in family falls under senior citizens category. Seems like there is no option to get the RSDC as of now. If you find any possibility to convert the account variant please do update here, but the senior citizens account is out of equation in my mother's case.

Its possible. I converted normal saving ac to mahila shakti. They just took an application on plain paper. Nothing else. But go with aadhar pan copy.

My branch is rural branch, and I changed my account type to SS. So I recommend it. If the system allows, they'll do it, no harm in trying. If it doesn't accept, anyway you've to open a new one.

Sure, will try to explore as suggested by you. But the official website of the bank suggests that semi-urban & rural branches are not eligible to apply to the super savings account. Though there is no harm in trying. So if things don't work, can we close the account & immediately open the new one with a different variant?

Dont know Product code. Had normal saving ac n converted to mahila shakti. In a single visit without mahila visit. Took her signature on blank paper. Branch ppl know me so it was very easy. Converted same day.

Yes. i am joint ac holder in that ac. Why to send ur mother. Just go alone with her sign on paper an application with documents. If they ask then send ur mother. I dont think they will ask as its just Product code change. But mostly depends on how supportive ur bob staff is.
