IDFC asking 56 working days for debit card refund from PhonePe failed transaction

PhonePe proceeded refund next day on June 23. They even gave me the Arn number for refund and told that refund is already processed to IDFC and I need to check with them.

When I asked the IDFC few days later, now they are stating the request is duly processed and it may take 56 working days.

What is this stupid timeline? As per RBI rule for debit card failed transaction they must refund in 7 days and failed to do so the bank has to pay 100 penalty for every day .

If i dont get the refund by jun 26 I can file an RBI complaint right?

Let them take 56 days, you can only make your case strong by letting IDFC making mistakes, not you.

Unless, that's a big amount. Let them take.

Or approach PNO directly, don't waste your time with low level officers.
