Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out for advice on a situation with SBI Cards. In February, I applied for a new credit card online through the Sprint portal. However, an SBI Cards employee submitted a duplicate application without my consent, even though I requested she continue processing the original application.

Despite multiple escalations, including providing the employee's call recording, SBI Cards nodal officers haven't resolved the issue in over 30 days (10+ emails exchanged). I then filed a complaint with the RBI, which resulted in a ₹2,000 compensation and the removal of one negative impact on my credit report (CIBIL hit).

Unfortunately, the promised compensation hasn't been credited after 10 working days. I contacted the RBI customer care, but they advised the complaint is closed and recommended visiting an SBI Cards branch.
Here's my question:
  • Should I wait longer and request additional compensation for the delay?
  • Is it better to email them for a status update or visit a branch directly?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

When I filed against sbm bank OneCard, I was given compensation in form of reward points. So my suggestion would be to
Firstly check all your bank statements, SBI card statements, if not found any trace of the compensation then mail sbi cards again and this time attach this mail in PDF format
Ask the following in the mail - 1. What is the status of the compensation advised to SBI cards by the RBI?
2. Provide me with the transaction details of this payment of compensation.

Wait for their reply, probably you would receive a callback, if not then call them yourself and ask about the status. On call ask to generate service request number.

This way you will have two request numbers. Then file appeal to RBI with both request numbers and the mail.

Hope this helps
