Axis Magnus vs HDFC Infinia and Diners Club Black Airline and Hotel Transfer Partner Value Comparison

After the recent introduction of Airline and Hotel Loyalty Program transfer option for HDFC Infinia and DCB it opened the door for all those people who're using their Infinia and DCB now or been hoarding tons of points to choose new partners to transfer. Before HDFC used to allow the transfer only to Club Vistara and Singapore Airline's KrisFlyer, now they added some lucrative programs to transfer such as ALL - Accor Live Limitless, Turkish Airline, Air Canada - Aeroplan etc.

Axis has already started this storm to the credit card community already when they introduced couple of transfer partners months back, and now HDFC is joining the game. HDFC Infinia and DCB had been all credit card enthusiasts' favourite card to hold but with multiple devaluation it lost its charm and with the step of Axis in airmile game most of the enthusiasts switched to Axis Magnus and Reserve. So will it be a good move to come back to the game to take the crown from Magnus and Reserve? Let's see the value we can get from the earning of points of the cards, especially Magnus, Infinia and DCB:

Though HDFC came up with some unique and very useful partners but hey, it doesn't match with the value Magnus can provide with the shared partners or the unique partners of Magnus.

Even without accelerated points or monthly milestone, Magnus gives tremendous value back of 4.8% where Infinia and DCB can give maximum 3.33% value and also gives as low value as 1.66%.

But ofcourse if you count the accelerated reward points of both the cards, you get great value as well. HDFC secured two great partners namely Air Canada's Aeroplan which saves a lot of taxes for major carriers like Etihad and Accor which has more than 5,300 hotel all across the globe and the value is tremendous with lot of flexibility. But hey, from the leaks we had already seen that Accor is coming to Axis already along with Emirates, but when we don't know.

So with this few questions arise, is it just a survival strategy or HDFC for Infinia and DCB or is it an indication that HDFC is going to do its next big move to introduce its next big credit card which will sit above Infinia? It's all about time, so let's see what happens.

So what are your thoughts on it? Let us know!
