already too many bills to track and pay on the last date, the cc bills are something i would always auto-pay using same bank savings account

If nach means auto debit then you should have a icici saving account then on auto debit.

NACH is different from auto debit provided by the card issuing bank and it works only if we have a savings or current account with the same bank.

NACH is supposedly for auto debit with any other bank.

I don't have a savings account with ICICI, btw. That's why I asked the question.

I use CRED and other apps only for CB. But, primarily I use other methods mentioned above. They have legal backing. Your responsibility is only to initiate the transaction (and to keep enough money as bank balance 😛). Any delays or failures can be fought in courts (or in RBI). That can’t be said for CRED or others. Basically, use every channel wisely. 🙏

There are so many people who lost their precious time due to delayed settlements, payment failures, etc. It just takes only one delayed payment to let the credit card companies make profits.

There was only one issue with CRED once for which they paid complete charges to the extent of approx 10-12 K (don't remember the exact amount now). Delayed payment charges + Interest + GST whatever was billed in the statement. The issue was I had 2 ICICI bank CCs with the same last 4 digits and Cred messed it up. The due was on APay card while Cred showed it on Platinum card and I paid for Platinum card and it was also credited on the same day to the card. But I got the shock of my life when I got call from ICICI bank after about 10 days saying no payment made. First I fired the guy saying I always pay full amount you must have made a mistake I have proof and I will show you and disconnected the phone. Then received mail regarding same and logged into net banking and realized what happened. Complained to Cred and they agreed to pay whatever charges ICICI will levy but at the same time also accepted glitch in their system and gave disclaimer that in the future they will not compensate for this kind of situation. So I blocked my APay CC and took a new one with different last four digits. Next month when statement came, I forwarded it to Cred and they paid the entire charges directly to ICICI.

CRED support has been good so far. I requested (via X) a bank to be included in their UPI section and CRED implemented it in less than a month.
