Adding credit card as "biller"

I have a BoB account and a BoBCard which is set to auto-debit from it. Likewise an IDFC a/c and an IDFC credit card. These both work nicely - they debit on DUE date (not before it), and they debit only the UNPAID balance in the bill - i.e., I can pre-pay some amount on the card, and the amount I pre-paid gets subtracted from the bill.

Will adding credit card as biller on my bank account do the exact same thing?

No adding as a biller will generate the bill
If you don't setup standing instructions it won't auto debit
