I just wanted their card to add to my collection. Then close the card. Since I have already achieved milestone for fee waiver, I will wait till next year, and then either close the card or if they convert it to LTF, I will keep it.
That's also one of my reasons for me to get their cards.

Truth be told, I am frustrated with the normal customer care as well. They dont seem to have basic knowledge of anything. I am not sure whether SC bank has an extremely liberal work policy or the employees arent...

It should have only joining fee.
But, if customer care is saying that it is not reflecting in their system, then the agent didnt apply the appropriate code. keep proof and escalate as much
One can put forth an argument that the conditions as mentioned in the website to make the card LTF was to make a transaction of Rs 500 or more within 30 days of card activation/issuance. There was no mention of any other condition like Application must be only online, and so on.
