in my case it was diners to diners network, so u cant keep 2 diners cards. so I had to close DCP to get Marriott.

NO, I had DCP and tata new and closed DCP then my Tata card was still active and after one month I applied MB card. the ccare guy keep saying your floater card (tata) will close once u close the main card but that didn't happen.
