Just add a qualifying activity (earn/redeem) to account and the expiry will get pushed forward. Best redemptions are when you plan 5 consecutive nights at the same property for the 5th free night.

All the times I’ve tried this - 1. Properties don’t accept the AMEX voucher when clubbing with the 25% off deal 2. I have been able to pay with other cards, no property has forced me to pay with the Plat Charge yet.
