yes, their SavingsMax or classic are good options to choose from, Except IMPS most of the day to day banking needs can be fulfilled without any charges

Here is what I would do. 1) Visit branch and Upgrade the SB account to SavingsMax account with 25k MAB. 2) Request for Millennia debit card from Netbanking, and close the Platinum DC (Platinum gets too much hype).

as mentioned above, upgrade to HDFC SavingsMax by maintaining a 3L FD, then they will wave off your debit card charges & also no need to maintain MAB.

Yes and No It depends on your profile as well If u open sb max or normal, digi youth u can hardly get pre approved offer till millennia card and even if u get it the limit may not be satisfactory If ur credit profile is good u can directly apply for their cards without having an account...

If you want pre approved offers, regular or SB max is a better choice.

HDFC is better. If you're gonna maintain 1-3L, open account under preferred banking programme. And create a family group for combined maintenance/fulfillment of programme's requirement.
