I'm in a similar situation as well but my CC spends are around 32L+ but cumulatively on all banks never crossed 10L/bank limit... What should I do?

I advice you to either stops using your accounts for high payments or if you have source with you, it wont be a problem. I have seen many people not filing ITR because they think filing it will lead the system to track them easily. System already tracks you.

If IT department has to send you notice, they can send by post also on your registered PAN address as happened in case of my aunt who was a teacher and after retirement she got notice for last 10 years and she never filed ITR or even correct taxes except TDS from salary. She faced heavy fines.

IT department will heavily deploy AI systems in future and system after analyzing data based on Algos will identify each and every person and alert the department. It is happening even now but on small scale. Currently work of centralizing everything from every banks account to every financial App a person use and PAN connected with it. People aren't belieiving me currently but my known working in INFY on ITax portal project tipped me that not even a single person will be spared in next 5 years.

If you had read CBDT agenda for this year, they have already asked their Tax Officers and AO to identify people and try to tax them as much as possible to increase tax collection. Future is bleak for CC users who rotate money heavily and using their accounts to pay off.

Continue: Although I don't need to worry here as I have been iflling ITR since 20 yrs with details of every single penny except cashbacks as currently there is no system where banks can reports cashback incomes. 10K already exmepted. In future CBDT will have system to report these cashback incomes also.

@desiviru thankyou for clarifying everything.
And if I stop using cc for friends.
My usage will be less ~5k/m overall cc.
So I will be fine right ? Then no need to do anything.
Then when I get job and if income is >3L I can start filing.

@Hope Yes it will be fine. You can file ITR if and when income is more than 2.5L in Old regime and 4L in new regime. Below this mark you are exempted from filing but remember in that previous year your transaction should not be something that can prove you had expenses but still you have not made ITR so where this money came from.

IT Department generally look at a person's last 3 years ITR figures and compare it with their expenses (only when they get to notice else there are crores of peoplee and they can not look for everyone and it is just random. Simple words mein jiska time aa gaya ya number aa gaya uski lagegi).

Suppose your ITR was Rs.6L, 8L and 9L for last 3 years and your spends on CC are say 25L then this is questionable as 23L income and 25L spends. But if you can prove you took this money from father or anyone who can also confirm and this was not in cash (cash can be 20K only), you are good to go and safe.

Jo karna hai karo bas uska hisaab jarur rakho. Yeh khaoge ki friend ke liye ki thi toh fir usko bhi le aana questioning ke time ki usne payment cash mein ki ya tumhe fund tfr kiye. Cash mein ki hai to tum dono ki lagegi.

Jab tak department ki nazar nahi pade sab theek hai. Par ek baar fasey toh bahar nikalene nahi denge yeh log.

Darna nahi hai par alert raho. Aur pata rahe tumhe bas ki kya kar rahe ho aur zayaz bhi hai.
