ICICI Credit Card Applying for APay in August25 (Update: APay Received)

Hey everyone, so today marks my 5th successful payment with UtkarshBank Supecard since I got it in Feb. (My first CC and beginning of Credit history)
My ICICI Apay application cooldown timer will reset in abuot 20 days as well. (Failed in Jan since I had no credit history)

So I was hoping to receive some advice from you guys. After making the 6th payment on August 1st and assuming it is reported to CIBIL by 15th, I intend to apply for ICICI Apay once again on 20th August. Would you guys recommend it? Also was wondering if I shuold apply for SBI CB either after 1 month of applying for Apay (irrespective of whether Apay gets approved or not) or should I apply for SBI CB first? I feel like applying for the LTF card first makes more sense. (Primary estore is Amazon ofc but I do frequent FirstCry, Myntra etc)

Will be applying under the Self Employed category as my Annual Income is ~4L (pseudosalary as I work in a charitable clinic which pays me on a monthly basis so for ITR purposes its more along the lines of "Self Employed" with a fixed monthly income - for now)

So you are saying that 6 months of complete payments is not a sufficient history?

nope, atleast 1-2 years for icici apay.

Try none before 1 year SBI will not entertain you without 1 other card in your hand generally for 1 year.

You will need atleast 6L for self employed for sbi cb. 4L is enough for icici.

If your first card us Apay, then they will approve. Else you need to wait 1-2 yrs.
SBI CB apply after 6-8 months. I got it after 8 months from my first card.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will try applying for Apay ICICI since if they reject it, it will go back on a 6month cooldown timer.
In case they do reject, I will try mailing them with sweet talk and see if they reconsider it.
Will put SBI CB on hold until next yr

-Applied for AmazonPay ICICI on 15th August 2025, completed vKYC
-16th August - Got a call from ICICI CC (truecaller) in the morning, missed the call. Got another call in evening, apparently these are agents who "guide" you through the application process then ask you to enter "FIN" referral code in 2 boxes meant for bank use. But I told them I had already submitted the application. Evening of 16th, application tracking showed "Document Verification Completed"
-17th August - Sunday, so no activity
-18th August - Around 11am got SMS that card is approved, activate on Amazon, tried to check application status on Amazon but the option had already gone away because card was approved. However I went on ICICI website and checked status, Card Approval was still pending. Checked once again during evening and Card Approval was Completed with green check mark. I still did not activate card via Amazon. Downloaded iMobile app which showed the last 4 digits of the CC issued and asked me to enter CVV details but as I did not have the card with me, could not register on the app yet.
-19th August - CC Dispatched around 7pm
-20th August - CC Delivered at 11am

Credit Limit - 50k ( I am happy with this, more than sufficient for now as I dont plan on purchasing any big ticket items >50k on Amazon )
PIN set via iMobile App
International txns off
All domestic txns off except Online txns

Anything else I should be doing?

Applied without leaving the application midway and without using their "FIN" code. If you leave it midway, the executive calls. and tells you to do this.

But I dont think their involvement guarantees anything.

Yeah, people say it boosts your chances of approval, but I don’t think it really makes much of a difference.
