Axis Bank launches ‘Lock FD’ feature to curb digital frauds: How it works

Well done !!! The way they lock the reward points / edge rewards of CC now adapted to FDs.

This feature is more of an inconvenience to visit the branch. We need to take some time off from work to visit bank. Not good for senior citizen as well. Also the purpose of having online FD is we can liquidate it any time even during weekends and holidays during emergency funds.

What they could have done is doing a verification call when breaking FD like they do in case of suspected credit card transactions.

The problem with this Brainless Big Bank (BBB) is their so called features are so rigid, not flexible enough to cater different scenarios...
Not sure who takes these calls in their internal hierarchy

Few days back I saw this lock thing and out of my stupid curiosity I clicked on it and then spent another 20 mins trying to figure out how to unlock it and finally gave up and now it’s good to find a dedicated thread on this 🪓 effect 😬😬

Imagine if the bank branch is Bangalore and you are working in Mumbai and you have to visit Bangalore.

It may be also a trap for people and senior citizen to bring them to branch so that they can sell more of their products/policies.

The irony is : they want to serve their senior citizen customers better by implementing this feature...but in reality they might trouble them more...they can implement this feature more efficiently if they put some brain into it...as stated by some members here..

And another irony is: this bank bought CITI bank....

No problem in this scenario. Axis bank has Anywhere banking so you can visit your nearest branch and they will have to do extra work to send it to home branch. But again they will convince you to transfer the account to their branch.
