Shopping directly on Apple store via Grabdeals gives 6X reward points (max 10k/month though). Haven't yet tried this but I heard this 6X bonus point is in addition to the normal edge points.

This happened for me when I just added the card. Gave it some 12 hours and later it worked. So you can give it a retry after sometime.

Thanks for the info. Not adding ability of paying their own CC bill is probably because they already know the spending pattern/history. Hence the incentive to only pay other CC's bills.
