Customer care lied. The FAQs explicitly say that bank reserves the right to cancel existing card and re-card the customer according to new tier. It probably won't happen immediately but it is not guaranteed that you will be able to retain your signature card for its entire validity.

It is not clear what you want to do. Do you want to transfer money from your private account to govt dispensary account or do you want to accept payment from govt account to your account?

In my experience I have seen more unethical things being done by private bank employees than SBI employees. SBI employees often do not care enough to do such stuff!

After earning 25 x 6 = 150 gems previously this month, I've done a Rs. 600 transaction again for one of the same billers. Let's see if I get 0 (repeat biller) or 25 (old logic) or 30 (5% of 600) or 100 (flat 100 per txn) gems.
