Credit Card Application Reconsideration Request - How to get credit card from a bank after getting rejected?

Hello everyone,
Do you know that if a bank rejects your credit card application, you can still ask that bank to reconsider your credit card application?

In this post, I'll tell you how to request your bank for "Credit Card Application Reconsideration"

You have to send an email to your bank's grievance team (All Bank Credit Card Department Email ID & Phone No)
Request them to reconsider your card application. Provide some strong reasons for them to reconsider (maybe your ITR, other bank card statement, etc).

My experiences-
1. BOB rejected my Eterna credit card application back in 2021. They approved my application after I requested them to reconsider my card application.
2. Yes Bank rejected my YFE application. They approved my application after I requested them to reconsider my card application.
3. Indusind Bank rejected my card application. Approved after I requested them to reconsider my card application.



4. Citi Bank rejected my application multiple times, finally they approved my application in July 2021 after requesting them for reconsideration.
5. HSBC rejected my application multiple times, unfortunately they are not accepting my application even after requesting them for reconsideration multiple times.

My icici platinum credit card application was rejected recently and even before that my amazon pay card was rejected 2 or 3 times. I have 6 different cards with no late payments and a cibil of 769. Should I send a reconsideration email?

Recently i applied for HDFC Card i found following sms Your HDFC Bank Credit Card application No. xxx has been processed. Track status after 2 days here hdfcbk.io/a/g5PJYe1 but after checking it showing decline status what is the meaning this is final or any mood change possible with HDFC i am already holding savings a/c with this is 2nd time they decline my application till now no call or email received from HDFC Credit card team after multiple tweet to hdfc care team no response received till now is there any way i can approach for clarity or need to shoot mail if yes kindly help me out which mail id i can approach.

Got to know about LTF offer of Diners Priviledge via Back CC team (in-person, face to face) as my Credit limit on existing card was above 5L, applied for it with my Regalia First CC statement which clearly showed my current limit (6L), Got verification call where I confirmed that I applied for LTF and for Diners Priviledge CC (which she too confirmed), but after 4-5 days, instead of accepting/rejecting, HDFC backend team gave me Millenia instead (with no reference to LTF anywhere in mail)

went to bank and talked with the CC guy and Deputy BM both, they said if backend team thought if doing it, there must be a reason...

wasted time and got hard enquiry for nothing :/

Same...but i had applied for LTF Regalia...now i got asg saying they have changedbit to millenia :-/

First thing to do is to check your Credit score in all credit bureaus.

If you think scores are good enough (check forum to get some info regarding what is termed as acceptable score) and you don't have any late payments etc on your existing card(s), then mail to "grievance.redressalcc@hdfcbank.com" with your current CC statement (if you applied on C2C basis) along with application number and ask them why it was denied...

If that too doesn't help, then you can try to apply at Chennai office (need to send all documents via post, you might find post in this forum mentioned what all things to send)

But, You need to remember that they have complete authority to deny your applications as they are giving service to you..

After reading this thread I have requested HDFC to reconsider. They have agreed to reconsider. But it's more than a month but I didn't get any resolution. Their lazy verifier has marked my application as person isn't living on given address. Now after HDFC is calling me asking same questions some even suggested to submit different address proof which I don't have. Already submitted multiple address proofs to HDFC but callers are clueless.

You can try mailing them for reconsideration.
Maybe they will accept what was your income documents you submitted and what is your credit score?

Brother, my Cibil is 765 currently and they have not asked me for any income documents i applied online. Only one televerification call i got from them.

I didn't know where to apply so i applied directly through their website.

I am. Kotak 811 holder since 5 years. I am from Dwarka Delhi.
