Amex Trifecta - Optimal Usage Guide

Sometimes back I wrote a handwritten note on how to maximise the utilisation of AMEX Trifecta and shared over Twitter, so here's the guide. Hope it helps

The Cards used here are the followings:

1. AMEX Membership Rewards Credit Card
2. AMEX Platinum Travel Credit Card
3. AMEX Gold Charge Card

As per the talks, AMEX ban is suppose to get lifted "soon enough", this guide may help you to make your choice on with which card you'd like to go for and how to maximise the MR points accumulation without breaking the bank

It is not fixed as such, the moment you transfer that money to anyone's bank account, the rate could go back upto 4.5 %

I will never do bank transfer. I use Paytm wallet a lot to pay other people's Paytm wallet.

On Amex Platinum Travel we get a welcome bonus of 10k MR points. But it is written they can be redeemed for Flipkart or on ATO. Can we transfer these points to Marriott?

Yes you can redeem for airlines or hotel points

I have got an email to upgrade from MRCC to platinum travel credit card just wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade to platinum travel & retain MRCC at the same time? I got MRCC aa FYF through referral in Feb this year. Hopefully i can spend 4l in a year.

If i can't do as above what is the best option for me to have both ? Should i upgrade to platinum travel & then reapply for MRCC with another referral?
Or any other best option?

Also wanted to know if we have multiple amex cards can we purchase 20k Amazon gv 2 times or limit is 20k for both in amez reward multiplier.

You should make a fresh application of platinum travel through referral and keep your MRCC, no point closing it.

Also amex reward multiplier gyftr is tagged with mobile number.
Combination of mobile number and card number is allowed max 25K Amazon pay voucher.

You should apply fresh from referral. FYF and you get points and the person who’s referring you, will also get the benefit from it. Later on you can decide which one to keep and which one to let go.

Go to Amex Gyftr. It will be mentioned in the vouchers. Mostly all have Multiplier

Unlike other banks, the reward rate is applicable on all the vouchers you buy from Reward multiplier site based on your card type

You can apply Plat travel and still have MRCC. I confirmed this earlier with AMEX customer care

Does Amex allow transfer of points from all cards to Mariott Bonvoy or is it only from Platinum Travel Card. If we have multiple cards per person, do all points get grouped under one account and are at 1:1 transfer from amex to MB

Your MRCC calc is wrong. You’re assuming spends of 1.28L but calculating rewards for 72K only. That will bring down your RR to around 7%.
