You have to pay 1180 as card charges I think with 2k account.

Yes, that's how it is. Please note that 1180 is the renewal fee. Unlike some other banks, Canara doesn't charge an issuance fee.

I don't think so but there was a charge of 1000 which I don't know why it was there.

Actually no. I have a home loan with canara and they deducted 1000 into that loan account but i don't know why. EMIs on time, there's extra money in the account but still they cut 1000. Need to check this with the bank why they did this.
