Heart to Heart..

TBH, I'm very surprised and dismayed that Rupay Select Lakme vouchers sell at 400 to 500 Rs each while blood test vouchers sell at 75 - 100 Rs.

This shows how much we take our health for granted. Regular blood tests like Cholesterol panel, HbA1C, Liver enzymes can prove very important in detecting metabolic diseases and lifestyle diseases like diabetes, NA fatty liver disease etc.
This should be mandatory.. full blood test every 6 months.. may it be with free debit card perks or with own money.

This would be a good context to add to this discussion - which CCs/ DCs are the best for health-related services? I know Rupay Selects are the obvious choice, but which ones. I use my 'practically' LTF PNB Rupay Select Credit Card for this.

Are the corporate free full body checkups really being done seriously by labs? are they trust worthy...
A collegue of mine had heart stroke just after a month of full body checkup.. no findings in reports... 40 years of age... 1 stent...

I got an acute attack in jan this yr, while driving car. I am lucky to be alive to type the story here. Got angio 1 stent. I quit smoking after that permanently. I used to smoke 10-15 cigg. per day.

The doc said the cause is family history of heart diseases and chlorestrol as well. I stopped eating ghee and oily food. And i lost 17kg since the last 3 months. I am 45yrs old.

My next door neighbor kid came back home after some bank exam, sat on bed with a bottle of water. Got chest pain and collapsed. Doc declared him dead before reaching the hospital. Today is his asthi visarjan at prayagraj. He was 29+. He was not that lucky to tell his own story.

Cannot do much when you have family history to blame. But overall the blame is mostly personal life choices which in turns affect our body and we lose the power to fight internally.

Specially smoking. Its a social basic. And eating junk food - oh yeah.

I am sure whoever read my post, they will know this to be true as well.
Can you share the plan to lose weight . That too 17kg in 3 months is great.

I did a full body checkup before going to india in dec 2023. The heart doc did echo and told me i need to lower the smoking. I was starting to have issue going upstairs and shortness of breath. He said he will write normal report, as needed for insurance companies etc. And he gave me a month of 1 tablet. And it helped and my life was back to normal daily life.

I never give it much thought as i didnt need the report for any redemption.

Regarding blood reports, you cannot cheat on those are they are mostly computer generated values. Other tests like echo, ecg etc only doctors can understand looking at the scans. Normal people have no idea if its the scan of a heart or kidney. And cause of insurance claims many doc do such things as well. Thats the hard truth.

Sorry to know of your friend. Im 99% sure he knew something was wrong about his health from the tests.

My weight loss was mostly cause of my body trauma due to heart attack + i completely avoided smoking, drinking, oil from that onwards.

This happened automatically from when i was in hospital, eating hospital food, but it was like 5stars food haha. But i was actually a bit scared to eat that time.

My daily food intake when i got home was approx like this...

Breakfast - apples / bananas / grapes (no pineapples).
Lunch - 1 portion rice + chicken bbq / boiled lentils / Soups / boiled eggs.
Dinner - Noodles / rice with veggies / chicken / eggs

With 0 to near-0 masala.
0 oil / butter / ghee / cheese / mayo
And i ate full stomach. With this meal i was feeling hungry after few hours, so i had some protein bar + oats cookies in between - Sugar free.

And i stopped drinking coffee that time. Started drinking black tea now with no sugar.

Hope this helps.
